How Does the Local Education Stack Up?

     he Education in the Auburn-Opelika area is one of the best in the state and the country. The area has Auburn University and Southern Union for higher education and has some of the best high schools around. Auburn High is one of the best in the state; a 6A school that has one of the best graduation rates and college SAT scores in Alabama. Opelika High school is a 6A school that has one of the best high school football programs in the state sending multiple players to college and professional. Auburn University is one of the best higher education institutions in the state and country. Auburn has over 23,000 students and a 17 to 1 student teacher ratio. US News ranks Auburn University in the top 100 public institutions in the country it has over 250 organizations and an active Greek life. Auburn University has various degree programs in engineering, clinical sciences, business, etc. Southern Union has an enrollment of 4,017 with programs in nursing and entry-level education. The college consists of three campuses located in Valley, Wadley, and Opelika .
